DIVEMASTER

The TL Sea Divemaster Course is designed for anyone who has a desire to help with student training and wants to improve their diving technique. During this 12-week course, you will be provided the opportunity to progress into our ‘internship’ program. There, you will work with students in both the pool and open water, enabling you to fully develop your skills, diving knowledge and expertise.

A Few Things You’ll Learn About:

  • Your role as a PADI divemaster
  • Diver safety & risk management
  • Supervising diver activities
  • Assisting with dive students
  • Organizing special dive-related projects
  • Conducting briefings
  • How to map an Open Water site
  • Making scuba diving into a career

PREREQUISITES:

  • Minimum of 18 years old
  • Rescue certified
  • EFR (CPR & First Aid) training withing past 24 mos.
  • Minimum of 40 logged dives to begin course
  • Minimum of 60 logged dives to earn certification
  • Medical statement signed by physician within past year

NOTE: A possible college credit may be available for the Divemaster course. In addition, qualifying certifications from other diver training organizations may apply.

Assistant Instructors, Instructor candidates in training & Divemasters are eligible to enroll in certain specialty Instructor courses, however, some specialties have additional prerequisites. Ask for details.

ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR

The Assistant Instructor Course is designed to train candidates how to conduct classroom, pool and open water presentations, while fine-tuning their performance quality skills, student awareness and problem-solving. This certification is the next logical step beyond Divemaster and is for those individuals who wish to become Instructors.

TL Sea is one of only three PADI 5-Star Instructor Development Centers located in the Greater Seattle Area, who offers this course. The AI Program is the first step to becoming an instructor and can only be taken through a certified PADI 5-Star IDC.

PREREQUISITES:

  • Minimum of 18 years old
  • Divemaster certified for minimum of six months
  • Minimum of 60 logged dives to begin course
  • Minimum of 100 logged dives to attend IE
  • EFR (CPR & First Aid) training withing past 24 mos.
  • Medical statement signed by physician within past year
  • Emergency First Response Instructor*

*Rating may be earned during instructor training.

NOTE: Eligibility to enroll directly in the OWSI program may be available to those holding an instructor rating from another diver training organization.
